The Saudi Arabian Section (SAS) of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing was chartered in 1999. Since then, the section has grown to over 650 individual and corporate members. The section was founded in order to promote the discipline of NDT as a profession, provide a forum for exchange of NDT technical information through educational materials and programs, and facilitate standards and services for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel. SAS has established six successful regional conferences on NDT in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The SAS section is the most active section with the highest standing among the worldwide NDT community.

Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) was founded in 1972 as a professional voluntary non-profit organization and a well known body for engineering professionals all over GCC. BSE aims for excellence activities in organizing conferences, exhibitions and professional trainings and to promote the code of conduct and ethics among its members. It maintains close links with the government and academic leading universities.

The total registered BSE member stands now at 1742 from all categories, disciplines and nationalities including Bahrainis, Arab and foreign members. BSE has given an intensive attention to raising the professional awareness among its members. Additionally, BSE contributes actively in encouraging students to enroll in engineering disciplines through awarding grants to support students while studying.
